Our Directors

Pastor Frank Melanson (PRESIDENT) ~ Pastor Frank has the gifts of prophet, evangelist and teacher, which could explain his passion for missions and spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He also likes to challenge both himself and others, thus his keen interest in challenging Christian communities –throughout Canada, the United States and the Caribbean – to participate in an evangelism and outreach program and a short-term mission trip.
Pastor Melanson has been a Wesleyan Church pastor for 14 years. He has served in Norton, NewBrunswick; Grand Manan, New Brunswick; Fort Fairfield, Maine; and Vienna, West Virginia.
Frank has been organizing short-term mission trips to the Caribbean since 1992. Over the years he has taken various teams to places such as Jamaica, St. Lucia, Grand Cayman, and Antigua. The diversity of each team has enabled Frank to learn a great deal about interpersonal relationships, and improve his leadership skills.
Frank currently lives in Truro, Nova Scotia with his wife, Carolyn, and son, Jamin.

Suzette Cameron (SECRETARY/TREASURER) ~ Suzette’s passion is missions. She loves to spend time getting to know God personally, the Word profoundly and the world presently, which is why she challenges all Christians to participate in at least one short-term mission trip in their lifetime.
Suzette has a gift of administration. Her academic background includes a degree in Public Relations, as well as certificates in Accounting, Marketing and Business Administration. She has worked for theMetro Food Bank Society, Halifax Regional Police, Highlandview Regional Hospital Foundation and Industry Canada. She currently works for Scotiabank.
Suzette lives in Truro, Nova Scotia with her husband, Sid.

Pastor Roger Jewell (DIRECTOR) ~ Pastor Roger has a gift of evangelist and teaching, which could explain his passion for missions. Pastor Jewell has been on two mission trips to Jamaica, and he has thoroughly enjoyed each trip. Especially, getting to meet Pastor Wesley Johnson, a man he describesas having a heart that beats for the Lord. He also appreciated being able to see lives changed through the power of the Gospel.
Pastor Jewell began his journey with the Lord at an early age, but at the age of 16 he found his heart growing cold and began living a backslidden life. After serving 4 and half years in the US Navy, Roger felt the call ofGod on his heart. So, he began studying for the ministry at Zion Bible Institute after his stint in the Navy. When he graduated he remained at the Institute to serve in various capacities. Roger left the Institution in 1970 to begin an evangelistic ministry in Maine, Massachusetts and West Virginia. Since then he has help start a church in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, served as a youth pastor in Lewiston, Pennsylvania, and later pastured in New Franklin, Pennsylvania.
Pastor Jewell is currently Senior Pastor in Caribou, Maine, where he lives with his wife Gail and their adopted daughters Jessica and April. They also have two Foster Care children they plan to adopt.

Donald (Don Don) Gallant (NS Area Representative) ~ Donald has a passion for missions and coffee,and he has a gift of helps and service. He thoroughly enjoys working with children and helping anyone who needs his help.
Donald has a very diverse background. He has worked as a professional Nanny. He served aboard a ship,and he is a volunteer for Ground Search and Rescue. Donald spends most Tuesday evenings at the church working with young boys between the ages of 12 and 18 ~ Boys to Men.
Donald currently resides in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Agnes (Aggie) Murdock (NS Area Representative) ~ Aggie has a passion for missions and serving others. She has a gift of service – she follows the leader’s direction, even if it takes her outside her comfort zone.
Agnes is always willing to take on new challenges, and she is excited about discovering God’s will for her life, which includes starting a girls club.
Agnes values time with daughter, Sarah, an opportunity to help others discover God’s love for them.

Fellowship ~ include all born again believers in assembling ourselves for teaching, rebuking, correction and instructions in righteousness. (Hebrews 1:25; II Timothy 3:16)

Unction ~ insist that all members and church workers are spirit-filled believers, such that they display a spirit of love and sensitivity to the brethren. (Acts 6:3-5; I John 2:20)

Leadership ~ institute the leadership qualifications of Paul . The importance of strong, submissive, servant-like and spirit-filled leadership cannot be overemphasized. (I Timothy3)

Our Beliefs

Our God is the only living and true God. He is holy and loving, eternal, as well as unlimited in power, wisdom and goodness. He is the Creator and Preserver of all things. Within this unity is three persons of one essential nature, power and eternity – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The Father is the Source of all that exists, whether of matter or spirit. He made man in His image with the Son and the Holy Spirit. He relates to people as Father intentionally, thereby forever declaring His good will toward them. In love, he seeks and receives penitent sinners.
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary– truly God and truly man. He died on the cross and was buried, so he could be a sacrifice for original sin and for all human transgressions, and to reconcile us to God. Christ rose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven, and there He intercedes for us at the Father’s right hand until He returns to judge all humanity at the last day.

The Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son is the same essential nature, majesty and glory as the Father and the Son – truly and eternally God. He is the Administrator of grace to all mankind, and is particularly the effective Agent in conviction for sin, regeneration, sanctification and glorification. He is ever- present, assuring, preserving, guiding and enabling to the believer.

The books of the Old and New Testaments constitute the Holy Scriptures. They are the inspired and infallibly written Word of God, fully inerrant in their original manuscripts and superior to all human authority. They have been transmitted to the present without the corruption of any essential doctrine.

The Holy Scriptures contain all things necessary for salvation. In both Testaments, life is offered ultimately through Christ, who is the only Mediator between God and humanity. The New Testament teaches Christians how to fulfill the moral principles of the Old Testament through loving obedience to God, which is only made possible by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Humanity’s creation in the image of God included the ability to choose between right and wrong. Thus making individuals responsible for their choices, but with the understanding that since the fall of Adam people are unable to do right in their own strength. The corruption of the nature of each mortal is due to the original sin, not simply the following of Adam’s example, and is reproduced naturally in Adam’s descendants. Causing all humans to fall far away from their original righteousness, and by nature continually inclined to evil. In their own efforts, humans cannot even call upon God or exercise faith for salvation. Through Jesus Christ, the prevenient grace of God, salvation is bestowed freely upon all, enabling all who will turn and be saved.
Christ’s offering of himself, once and for all, through His sufferings and meritorious death on the cross provides the perfect redemption and atonement for the sins of the whole world, both original and actual. There is no other ground of salvation from sin except Christ. This atonement is sufficient for every individual in Adam’s race. It is unconditionally effective in the salvation of those mentally incompetent from birth, of those converted persons who have become mentally incompetent, and of children under the age of accountability. However, it is effective for the salvation of those who reach the age of accountability only when they repent and exercise faith in Christ.

Men and women must voluntarily respond in repentance and faith to appropriate what God’s prevenient grace has made possible. The ability comes from God, but the act is the individual’s.
Repentance is prompted by the convicting ministry of the Holy spirit. It involves a willful change of mind that renounces sin and longs for righteousness, a godly sorrow for and a confession of past sins, proper restitution for wrong doings, and a resolution to a reformed life. Repentance is the precondition for saving faith, and without it saving faith is impossible. Faith, in turn, is the only condition of salvation. Saving faith is expressed in a public acknowledgment of His Lordship and an identification with His church.

When one repents of personal sin and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, at the same moment that person is justified, regenerated, adopted into the family of God, and assured of personal salvation through the witness of the Holy Spirit.
Justification is the judicial act of God whereby a person is accounted righteous, granted full pardon of sin, delivered from guilt, completely released from th penalty of sins committed, by the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, by faith alone, not on the basis of works.
Regeneration, or the new birth, is the work of the Holy Spirit whereby one’s moral nature is given a distinctively spiritual life with the capacity for love and obedience when one truly repents and believes. This new life is received by faith in Jesus Christ, which enables the pardoned sinner to serve God with the will and affections of the heart, and by it the regenerate are delivered from the power of sin which reigns over all the unregenerate.
Adoption is the act of God by which the justified and regenerate believer becomes a partaker of all the rights, privileges and responsibilities of a child of God.
